"Take time to enjoy each other while engaged, and make those wedding decisions together."

Composed by Jessica Posey from Heaven Sent Events

Eric and Stephanie D’Agostino

Tell us about your love story!

How did you meet?

Eric’s college fraternity was hosting a small gathering for my college sorority at his home on December 3rd, 2010. We clicked immediately. Eric wanted to make sure he brought out all the stops by showing me his guitar skills and serenading me with a song. We talked the night through getting to know one another. He was a perfect gentleman. The following morning, we exchanged numbers and made plans to see each other again.

How did you know he was “The One”?

We supported each other through the years, and after I graduated from UTSA in 2013, we enjoyed many adventures together from snow skiing, laying beach side, two-stepping at concerts, and being each other’s plus one at weddings. Our experiences together echoed to me over and over that he was “the one” I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. We did survive our fair share of ups and downs, but were always committed to each other.

How long did you date?

We dated almost 11 years before he proposed.

How did he propose?

He proposed on Monday, October 18, 2021. The Astros were playing that night and we were going to eat at Maggiano’s. This was one of our favorite restaurants while we were dating. He proposed very nonchalantly in his truck before we went inside for dinner. Best dinner ever!

Describe your wedding planning process.

Did you hire a planner or day-of coordinator?

Yes! We hired Micah Bridges from Bridges & Co. and she was amazing!

Did you DIY any aspect of your wedding?

We DIYed the invitations and a lot of the wedding decor.

Did you have a specific theme?

We were going for country/rustic chic!

Where did you save the most?

We saved the most with our decor, florals, and invitations. We did the decor and invitations ourselves, and one of my bridesmaids and her mother did a beautiful job with our flowers.

Where did you splurge?

We splurged on our DJ/music and our photographer. They were both absolutely worth it.

Why did you choose your venue?

The venue just felt like us! It was naturally beautiful and didn’t require much decor.

Did you incorporate any special traditions or sentimental details in your ceremony or reception?

My grandfather gave the blessing before dinner. We also incorporated an anniversary dance and generational wedding photos for our guests to look through.

What was your most stressful decision?

Our most stressful decision was food! We had some challenges with the first two places we were considering. But then we found Rabel’s Roadhaus BBQ, and we couldn’t have been happier. Even weeks later our friends and family raved about how delicious it was.

What turned out to be your best decision surrounding the big day?

The food and the venue were our best decisions! They both were absolutely amazing and made our wedding exactly how we imagined it and more.

Tell Us About

Your dress:

My dress was perfect as if it had been made specifically for me. My mom and three of my bridesmaids took a weekend trip to Dallas to go dress shopping. We found “the one” at the second appointment after five dresses. We all knew it was the one as soon as I walked out in it.

Your flowers:

Absolutely amazing! One of my bridesmaids and her mom did a fantastic job. I couldn’t have asked for more. My husband and I are big Houston Astros fans, and he really wanted blue and orange everywhere. That was definitely not my vision, so I compromised and incorporated blue and orange in subtle/tasteful ways. Navy blue napkins and orange ranunculus. We also had some other orange and blue items mixed throughout!

The food:

Rabel’s Roadhaus BBQ knocked our socks off! The food was better than we could have hoped for, and our guests thought so too. A delightful surprise was getting to have leftovers!

The cake:

Shandy with Tabler Made is the best! We had a two flavor, three-tier, four-layer, semi-naked cake with cream cheese frosting. She even placed flowers I provided. The groom’s cake was Astro’s theme (not surprising).

Recap your big day for us

What made you laugh?

Our “flower man” was hilarious and made everyone laugh. Our photographer was amazing and had us laugh constantly. And, of course, the toasts!

What made you cry?

I am an only child and a daddy’s girl. Doing the first look with my dad made me cry tears of joy!

What were the most memorable moments?

The beer donkeys were so much fun and definitely unique! The dance floor was a fun time, and we loved our photos together after the ceremony.

What’s the best advice you can give a bride and groom planning their wedding?

Take time to enjoy each other while engaged, and make those wedding decisions together.

What did you look forward to most as Mr. and Mrs.?

We look forward to making improvements to our house and starting a family (party of three coming February 2024)!
