"Last but certainly not least, our groom had one more surprise for the day! With Cello Vida setting the scene under the shade of beautiful magnolia trees, we gathered together at the ceremony site for something extra special. Little did our bride know she was truly going to be the center of attention that day!"

Sophie’s Gasthaus is a newly-renovated boutique hotel that is a perfect blend of classic German architecture and modern design. Originally built in 1906, Sophie’s Gasthaus offers eight uniquely appointed rooms and suites where Texas hospitality meets luxurious details. The space is inspired by Art-Deco design with original artwork adorning the walls for guests to enjoy. It is an oasis in the historic downtown district of New Braunfels and is a unique and beautiful space for an intimate wedding celebration.

For this New Braunfels Wedding Guide styled shoot, we feature the creative designs of Cat Haus Design and Blumen Meisters Florals. Together, they created a festive and whimsical poolside wedding as well as an elegant indoor ceremony option featuring just how dynamic this venue can be!  Check out the images by the incredibly talented Shy Laurel Photography throughout this post and get inspired for your big day!

The shoot started off with a poolside wedding featuring the gorgeous courtyard ceremony space adjacent to the glistening pool and pool house. Our couple took the opportunity to cool off from the hot summer day with a quick photo-op!

Next, it was time to get ready for the rest of the shoot! Southern Tease worked their magic glamming up our beautiful bride while Skadis Frisor cleaned up our handsome groom with a fresh cut and shave. Nothing like being pampered by the best on your big day!

And the final look was absolutely incredible! The dress designed by Monique Ihuillier from Julian Gold as well as the tux from Celebrations Bridal and Prom made for a sophisticated modern look for this gorgeous couple!

Meanwhile, at the pool house, we had Izzy Cobos provide his makeup artistry skills for our special guests. It wouldn’t be a Cat Haus wedding design without the fun, whimsical elements incorporated into the mix which were inspired by the nautical details found throughout the venue. What better way to bring on some fun than with a pair of “fin-tastic” mermaids from the San Marcos Mermaid Society!

Who says that modern has to be black and white? We loved all the pops of colors that were consistent throughout the poolside design. From Cat Haus’ table-settings, Nuage table linens, Blumen Meister’s florals, Aly Am Paperie’s invitations, the cake by Sweet Treats Bakery and NB Heart to Home’s hand-painted details and signage, their hard work came together like a colorful dream! What a perfect palette for a summer wedding in Sophie’s courtyard!

The venue is the perfect place for any art-enthusiast, and what better way to add to it than a live painter on your wedding day? Our featured artist with Impressionist Live Wedding Painting and Fine Art shared her beautiful craft with a canvas acrylic portrait and water-color prints for wedding guests! It was amazing to watch her creation come together throughout the day, a true work of art!

Kick off the party with Southern Standard’s fabulous cocktails while enjoying Buka Bakehouse and Blumen Meisters delectable catering options. We featured incredible flavors and presentations for both daytime and dinner festivities sure to please even the most sophisticated palate!

Last but certainly not least, our groom had one more surprise for the day! With Cello Vida setting the scene under the shade of beautiful magnolia trees, we gathered together at the ceremony site for something extra special. Little did our bride know she was truly going to be the center of attention that day!

After checking to see if their “faux” wedding ring fit, our groom shook his head and smiled as he got on one knee.

“Now that’s the right fit!” he said as he PROPOSED!

It’s not everyday you get to witness a proposal on a New Braunfels Wedding Guide styled shoot, and we are so excited to have shared this incredible moment with them! Congratulations to the happy couple!

Just when you thought this day couldn’t be any better, the fun continued through the late hours of the night making this shoot a record-breaking nine-hour day! It was a lot of hard work, but these stunning images speak for themselves! Thank you to all the amazing vendors who made this possible!
