"Make sure you are picking things that you love! Dream up your wedding and go for the ideas that you love. It is so fun for people to see you as Bride and Groom and to see all of the details and love that went into the wedding. I feel so proud for planning our wedding exactly how I dreamed it to be! The response we got from our loved ones about how beautiful it was made it extremely special."

Tell us about your love story!

How did you know he was “The One”?

We were just best friends. Everything was so easy from the moment we met. I loved his heart for others and the way he cared for me. He made all of our dates so fun and it was easy to tell that he knew and loved me. I had never felt so cared for and loved by someone. We knew that building a life together someday would be so fun and special. And I can certainly say that this has been the case so far and exceeded all of my expectations!

How did he propose?

In December 2022, he told me we were going on a Christmas dinner date. He picked me up around 3:00PM and said he had one stop to make. We stopped at the Austin botanical gardens and I still had no idea. We were walking around, talking and laughing, and then he got down on one knee and proposed. I was completely surprised and excited!

Describe your wedding planning process.

Who helped with the planning?

Rachel O’Brien and my mother, Julie Campbell, helped out with the planning process!

Did you DIY any aspect of your wedding?

We did a floral backdrop behind our cake! We hung flowers from a string to make it look like the flowers were falling behind the cake.

Did you have a specific theme?

Our theme was “Floral Garden Wedding” and it was perfect! I loved all of the feminine touches and all of the beautiful pops of color. The Floral Studio did a beautiful job with our florals – which were an important detail for our theme.

Where did you save the most?

I saved the most on the venue! The venue is owned by my mom, Julie Campbell, which helped in more ways than one!

Where did you splurge?

Since I was able to save on my venue, I was able to splurge a little more on my dress and my flowers. It was nice being able to splurge on the florals since it was a key component for my overall theme!

Why did you choose your venue?

Besides the venue being owned by my mom, it was truly my dream venue. The venue was spacious and gorgeous, and I loved being able to have my ceremony outside!

What was your most stressful decision?

Our most stressful decision was coordinating the table arrangements for guests! There is a lot of planning and effort put into figuring out the best places for your guests to sit. Thankfully, all of the planning was worth it, and we were able to seat our guests so they could enjoy the wedding even more.

Is there anything you would have done differently?

Honestly, no! I felt like everything ran smoothly!

Tell Us About

Your dress:

My dress was fluffy, sparkly, and off the shoulder! We added lace and off the shoulder sleeves which just made the dress even more feminine. It was the first dress I tried on and I LOVED it!

Your flowers:

The flowers matched our color scheme perfectly and coordinated with my bridesmaid dresses. The colors were pink, white, cornflower blue, and sage green.

The food:

River City catering did a great job with our food! We had raspberry chicken, garlic cheese potatoes, and roasted veggies. We still get compliments on how good the food was at our wedding!

The cake:

Our cake was almond vanilla flavored with buttercream frosting. Pennington’s Cakes never fails and the cake was absolutely delicious!

Recap your big day for us

What made you laugh?

I loved seeing all of my friends and family dancing on the dance floor! My group of moms that I grew up with, including my own, did a special choreographed dance for us and it was amazing!

What made you cry?

My dad seeing me in my dress for the first time brought tears to my eyes, as well as seeing my fiance for the first time while walking down the aisle! All happy tears!

What were the most memorable moments?

Putting on my dress and being able to see my final look was so fulfilling. Seeing all of the planning and details finally put together was so rewarding!

What’s the best advice you can give a bride and groom planning their wedding?

Make sure you are picking things that you love! Dream up your wedding and go for the ideas that you love. It is so fun for people to see you as Bride and Groom and to see all of the details and love that went into the wedding. I feel so proud for planning our wedding exactly how I dreamed it to be! The response we got from our loved ones about how beautiful it was made it extremely special.

What did you look forward to most as Mr. and Mrs.?

Getting to start life together and dream together! We are also looking forward to all of our adventures and traveling together!

Anything else you’d like to share?

I look forward to getting to see all of the seasons of life with my best friend!
