Tell us your love story!

How did you meet?

Ours is an unusual story. We met at his family’s Thanksgiving 2017. I had just moved to New Braunfels and was invited by a friend who was dating his Uncle. Cameron walked in with his daughter and saw me and asked his brother, “Who is that?’ He said he fell in love with me right then and there. He found me on Facebook the next day. We talked every day since. Neither of us were looking for someone, but he quickly became my reason for staying, my home, my best friend, and my rock.

How did you know he was “The One”?

I knew he was the one on our second date a week later. He walked in the door and the chemistry was undeniable. He was so nervous that I thought he was going to break the wine glass setting it down.

How did he porpose?

We then dated for a little over three years before he proposed. When he did ask the big question, I did not see it coming. I was disappointed when a proposal didn’t come  Thanksgiving or Christmas. Then on a Wednesday night, the day before New Years Eve, Cameron, Sawyer (his daughter) and I were hanging out at the house. That evening when I walked into the living room they were sitting there acting suspicious. He had ‘Big Big Plans’ the music video playing on the TV, and then I knew! He got down on one knee and asked, “Will you marry us?” Of course I said yes and was so overwhelmed with emotion I cried happy tears the rest of the night.

Tell us about your wedding planning process.

What planning tools did you use?

For the planning I used the Knot as well as New Braunfels Wedding Guide and I used Zola for the registry.

Did you DIY any aspect of your wedding?

We DIY our centerpieces. Cameron cut the wood slices, and his stepdad, Steve, provided antlers. I rented Steins from Brook at Cat Haus and Blumen Meister let us cut loose flowers for each Stein. We splurged with the flowers, but Teia from Blumen Meissters does the best bouquets in town.

Tell us about the venue.

The venue was incredible. Finding the venue on The Knot was a happy accident  because it was still under construction when we toured it. They did a spectacular job, a very impressive place.

What turned out to be your best decision surrounding the big day?

The best decision ended up being choosing to do the ceremony outside. It just felt more like us. It was hot, but the spot by the water under the pergola was magical.

Do you have an unforgettable moment?

It was a dream walking down the aisle, seeing Cameron, as well as everyone who loves and supports us. Talk about a moment I’ll never forget! Everything was so beautiful I thought I was going to cry. The most unforgettable moment was remarks Cameron made throughout the ceremony that were meant just for me but that everyone could hear through the officiant’s mic.
