Jena and Jared
May 1, 2021
Tell us your love story!
How did you meet?
We met at a bar called Salvation Taco in New York City thanks to Bumble! A modern day love story: Jena was giving the app ‘one more shot’ and Jared just got incredibly lucky on his first Bumble date. We fell in love with each other during the summer of 2017. We then moved across the country in October of 2018 and fell in love with Texas.
How did you know he was “The One”?
About six weeks after we made it official, we were sitting at the Gumbeaux’s Restaurant at the Coushatta Casino in Louisiana when the “love” word was used. Everything just clicked with us. We enjoyed the same things and constantly laughed. For the first time in my life, I truly felt I knew what love was supposed to be.
How did he propose?
Jena thought she was going to spend a weekend alone in Newport with her family. Just before sitting down for dinner, the family took photos at a nearby gazebo. When Jared appeared out of nowhere, he spun Jena around as her mom’s favorite song, ‘Yellow,’ by Coldplay was being played by Jena’s brother on the guitar. It was then that Jared proposed. The look in Jena’s eyes was a never-before-seen combination of confusion, concern, and excitement. It was the most perfect surprise proposal. He also planned a trip to Cabo to celebrate, and if that wasn’t enough, friends and family made the trip up to Newport for an engagement brunch the next day.

Tell Us About
I love the details Jack Sullivan puts into all of his dresses.
We love Texas wild flowers and wanted a more relaxed and fun feel throughout our wedding.
We wanted a smaller, more visual display. 2Tarts did not disappoint. Since pies are our favorite, we also served specialty pies from the Texas Pie Company.
Trisha at River City really went above and beyond to meet our request. They tailored the menu to our favorite foods we have loved while living in Texas. They NAILED IT!!!
